Traditional archery dates back tens of thousands of years and played a critical role in many ancient civilizations for hunting, defense, and survival. Skilled archers were highly valued, and archery was practiced as both an essential skill and an art form.
Today, the stakes are lower, but archery continues to be respected and enjoyed by people of all ages. It is an activity that is physically engaging, mentally stimulating, and highly rewarding as skill develops. Archery can be enjoyed at an indoor or outdoor target range, or on a developed 3D course — think of it as 18-hole golf with a bow and arrow.
Instruction is available for small groups of 1 to 5 participants, semi-private lessons for 2 participants, and private one-on-one lessons with an archery instructor. Age-specific instruction can also be provided for youth ages 8–13, teens ages 14–17, and adults 18+.

3D Course Development
A 3D archery course is an outdoor target range that places targets along a light hiking trail, allowing archers to test their marksmanship in a wooded setting — like 18-hole golf with a bow and arrow. Red Feather Archery is a leader in 3D course development. You provide the land, and Red Feather Archery will plan and construct the course. Contact us to learn more about developing a custom Red Feather Archery 3D course at your resort or retreat, and host your own courses and competitions.
Safety and Risk Management
Archery is a low-risk sport when practiced safely. However, serious injury can occur if proper precautions are not followed. For this reason, risk is best mitigated through the supervision of a qualified trainer, coach, or archery instructor.
Youth ages 8–13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
All Red Feather Archery courses and ranges are designed with suitable arrow stops and backdrops, and without hard or jagged surfaces such as rock, concrete, or metal that could cause arrows to ricochet.
No archer shall draw and loose an arrow until the target range and/or 3D course has been cleared by a coach or archery instructor.
All Red Feather Archery guides, coaches, and instructors hold current 40-hour Advanced Wilderness First Aid certification from recognized training agencies, or 80-hour Occupational First Aid Level 3 certification recognized by WorkSafeBC.
Our guides, coaches, and instructors come from diverse professional backgrounds related to wildlife, forestry, ecotourism, recreation, and leisure.
Archery builds physical endurance, mental strength, and focus. With time and dedication, it can promote a healthy lifestyle through exercise, discipline, and mental clarity.
